Trip to the Valley

Lis and I went for a trip to the valley on Sunday and went all the way to Blomidon. It rained on and off, and there was a very vivid and bright rainbow for most of the day. We attempted to find our pot of gold, but gave up and went for a hike instead.

We also saw some funny signs in New Minas - a Computer and Paintball supplies store, and an income tax office that converts your old videos to DVD. Talk about diversifying ones business!

Labour Day Weekend Pics

Lis and I traveled around to Liverpool, White Point, Hunts Point and Summerville. What a scenic area - very different from around here, yet so close.

Recently took some shots out on the water by Front Harbour. Very nice..

Trip to Alma, NB

We recently went to Alma, NB for a family reunion. On our way we stopped by in Waterside, a small town on the 915 highway. It had an amazing beach on the Bay of Fundy - absolutely humongous! It was the first time I had seen the tide come in at full force on the BoF. Awesome!

One of the best dance beats I've heard in a while.. remixed..

I recommend you only listen to this with a good stereo with lots of bass
- there are references to exotic dancing in this video, so if that is something you don't want to hear, please don't hit the play button.

NerdsBackup

If you have ANY important information on your computer, NerdsBackup is a very important backup tool to keep your files safe. NerdsBackup is a "set-it-and-forget-it" backup solution. It simply sits in the taskbar of windows, monitoring the files and folders you tell it to, and whenever they change, it compresses, encrypts, and uploads the newest version of the file to your off-site backup (learn more at http://www.nerdsbackup.com). No more disks, usb thumb drives, burning CDs - just install this program once, and never worry about backups again - it takes care of everything!

NerdsBackup is free to download and install on your own, and costs $2USD/Gigabyte/month (1 gigabyte is about 500 digital pictures!). You get a free unlimited 14 day trial, and all accounts can be used for unlimited number of users and computers to simplify billing and for convenience.

To find out more, you can click the "Get NerdsBackup" link on the right hand side menu on this web site and watch these videos.

DDR2 RAM Memory Blow-Out prices!

Hello,

Just had a supplier put on a CRAZY special on DDR2 RAM. This price is available until June 19th, 2007, while supplies last.

Get yourself 2 GIGABYTES (yes 2 GIGABYTES) of DDR2 RAM for $99.00+tax, or $159.00+tax installed!! This is an amazing price, and a super cheap way of speeding up your computer! Please note that DDR2 RAM is fairly new, and if your computer is more than 2 years old, it probably has DDR RAM.

If you're not sure what type of RAM your computer uses, I recommend downloading the "System Info Tool" and then go to the "Hardware" heading, then click on Memory.

You can download the tool by clicking here. Run the program. Then if you right click on the "Hardware" heading, you can choose "Export To:" choose HTML, save that file and email it to me OR JUST CALL ME :).

Cheers,
Ben

Personal Picture of the Month

Hello,

Lisa and I have done a fair bit of traveling, and I love taking pictures - so, why not share them! This will be a monthly thing (10th of the month).

This is a picture taken up in the mountains near Luang Prabang in Northern Laos. We traveled there with our friends Jennifer and Brandi. We taught with Jennifer at the same school when we were in Korea, and Brandi joined here about 3 months before the end of her contract. We had an absolute blast driving out into the middle of nowhere and swimming in and tanning around the beautiful turquoise blue freshwater for a couple of days. Keep your eyes pealed for the two Saskatchewan sisters next week - they arrive here for a visit on June 15th - the date our house unofficially becomes a B&B for the season!

A picture of us 4 trouble makers is below the main picture.

Go Grandma Go!

Just had to share this one - my Grandmother won the volunteer of the year award for the Leamington Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards for her volunteer contributions at the Leamington Hospital and Tourist Information booth (it's a big red tomato in downtown Leamington). Go Grandma Go! A good example to follow. Love you lots!

The winner receives a coupon for 10% off their next service call (service must be provided in HRM or Lunenburg Counties).

640x480 3x zoom Web Cam Special

Hello everyone,

I've got a special on Kinstone KS1218A PC Camera's for the rest of this month.

You can check it out in full details here.

Price: $18.99+tax

What people are saying about me...

All I can say is WOW! Here's a recent survey submitted about me. This is what makes being a nerd so rewarding (Okay, getting paid is nice too!).

Did we happen to please you with our service? If so, how?
Not sure where to begin!
  • 1. Absolute professionalism... notified by phone if even running a few minutes late

  • 2. Listened carefully to every detail of my 'confusion'

  • 3. Found a perfectly customized solution for me

  • 4. Directed me somewhere else when his help wasn't my best option and even offered to be (and acted as) my "Nerdspeak Interpreter" with that other service.

  • 5. Had an amazing memory for even the smallest of details

  • 6. Followed up with me after his service was done to make sure I was finding the help I wanted, etc.

  • 7. Was a pleasure to work with and spoke very well about the advantages, 'philosophy', etc. of Nerds on Site. His own drive and determination to make Nerds on Site a success literally 'shone' through. Made me want to support that success however I can and I have already recommended Nerds on! Site to others.

  • 8. I'm probably still missing good stuff... but you get the idea!
